Kajaani Department of Teacher Education is a multidiciplinary research and education facility in the field of education and teaching. The Department has approximately 700 students and 100 staff members. Kajaani Department of Teacher Education is important part of the Kajaani University Consortium with it´s 240 staff and 1000 students.

Students graduate from our Department as experts in education. In working life, students function, for example, as primary school, kindergarten or secondary teachers or as project planners, researchers or other experts in tasks relating to education.

We carry out extensive research in educational sciences and in other Department's main research areas. In addition, we have wide international networks for research, for student and staff exchanges and for international development projects and co-operation.
